About Michelle

Michelle Smith (formerly Pennies) was born and raised in El Paso.  After high school, she attended the University of North Texas in Denton where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.  She went on to attend law school in Miami, Florida before ultimately settling down in San Antonio, Texas and receiving her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Michelle’s family and Christian faith are what drive and motivate her every day.  She is a member at Cielo Vista Church, has been an active board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in El Paso for the last 5 years, and recently began serving as a board member for El Pasoans for Life, Fatherhood and Pregnancy Help Services.  She is passionate about helping families through difficult times and never gets tired of watching lives transformed by God’s grace.

Michelle considers herself blessed to be able to serve people in some of the most difficult times of their life.

  • 2003 – Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas
  • 2010 – Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas
  • Michelle Smith has obtained the certification required by the Texas Estates Code to represent litigants in guardianship proceedings.
